My Story

I am originally from Salerno (ITALY) a pretty town facing the Mediterranean Sea.
At the age of 10, I began studying classical piano and thanks to my father Gianni Pinto (sax player) I had the chance to listening  to jazz and blues since I was a child.
I completely switched to Jazz music when I finally met Italian pianist Michele Di Martino, one of the biggest talent of the "bel paese". With Di Martino, a completely new path in my music career started as I had the chance to play with some talented artists.

I moved in the United States on 2010 where I started exploring jazz and world music on a much deeper level.
In my opinion, music is only ONE and it is not possible to discriminate any genre of music. Nowadays is pretty much impossible to completely separate different types of music.
When I moved to San Francisco I had the chance to meet musicians from all over the world with all different backgrounds and that helped me to develop my passion for Latin music, Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, etc... with the opportunity to play in great venues like Yoshi's and the San Jose Jazz Festival in 2012 together with John Worley, Oscar Pangilinan and Randy Merrill.
